It began with an idea of starting a hair care brand  back in 2014. Working a twelve hour shift with five now six kids later was hard to say the least. Taking it slow I started doing my research about how to care for my fine curly 4C hair. There was no concrete info in books or YouTube videos showing how to care for it. Many videos used the 4C term as clickbait but a closer look showed it was not as tightly coiled or dry as mine. Wash and Goes for 4Cs were none existent. After a few hours of that wet shower look it was a bushy mess. There were very few products that my hair liked. I tried almost every product and found that there were a few that my hair liked so I mixed these products together. I noticed that the chemicals used were not harmful and were derived from plants. Some were synthetically processed but its function resulted in softer hair and defined curls. I became fascinated with the chemistry of the combination of  ingredients to achieve a desired effect and this allowed me the knowledge to create my own formulas. I took a course in cosmetic chemistry to get a better understanding of how this process works and the rest was Way2Curly.
